Dr. Jane Mwangi: CEO, Diaspora Interlink
Dr Mwangi is the Founder and Executive Director of Diaspora Interlink,She holds a PhD in Migration Studies from the University of Ghana (2013), MA in Economic Policy Management (EPM) from the University of Ghana (2006), MA in International Studies from the University of Nairobi (2000) and BA Anthropology from the University of Nairobi (1997).
She is also an Adjunct Faculty at Riara University and a Volunteer Coordinator of the Hesabika Mentorship Program. She was formerly the Director of Hesabika Mentorship Program (2018), a visiting scholar at African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) (2015-2016) and a lecturer at the University of Ghana from 2007 to 2014. Her research interest is migration and diaspora issues. Her PhD Thesis was on how the development potential of the Kenyan Diaspora can be leveraged towards the achievement of Kenya’s long-term development goal – Kenya Vision 2030. Her Study focused on Kenyans living in the UK, US, Canada and Ghana.
Jane has a wealth of first-hand experience as a member of the Diaspora having lived in in Ghana for 12 years (2002-2014). During her stay in Ghana, she was the liaison person between Kenyans living in Ghana, and the Kenyan High Commission in charge of West Africa, based in Abuja. She was also involved in research geared towards encouraging the Government of Kenya to establish a diplomatic office in Ghana.
Jacob Mugendi: ICT Consultant, Diaspora Interlink
Jacob is an ICT Consultant in the field of Cloud computing, e-commerce and technology adoption. He is responsible for putting together diaspora interlink infrastructure and platforms.
